Join me and my 2-3 guests everyday at 9 pm (Eastern Standard Time) from 18 - 24 Jul 2020 online when they will teach you how they pray for their children, share their struggles and their testimonials. We will then end each session with a prayer led by each speaker. Each speaker will come on 'live' separately for about 15 - 20 minutes.
I am sure you will agree that motherhood is sacred vocation. This journey of motherhood is bitter-sweet and it can even be a terrifying one.
I am a mother of four, with my older three kids aged between 13 – 18, along with the latest addition, who has just turned 4 months old (yes, God has a sense of humour – praise Him). From the moment our kids were born into this world, we wore our hearts on our sleeves. In fact, we started praying for the well-being and safety of our baby the minute we learned of our pregnancy.
We will never stop ‘worrying’ about our kids, regardless of their age, till the day we depart from this world.
One of the best things we can do as mothers is to pray for our children. All mothers are called to be a prayer warrior. As mothers, we have spiritual authority over our children. We have the power to pray over our children no one else on earth has.
And mothers have a special place in Jesus’ heart. In the Bible, Luke 7:11-17 Jesus arrived at the village of Nain during the burial ceremony of the son of a widow. When he saw her, ‘his heart was filled with pity for her’ so he raised her son from the dead.
Being a mother of four has allowed me to see and experience the power of prayers. There is always power in a mother’s prayer, even if it may not seem like our prayers are being answered. In 1 The 5:18, we are told to pray without ceasing.
I had much difficulty raising one of my children. There was a lot of struggles and inner turmoil in me whilst raising my daughter. There were many times when my heart was filled with so much anguish, pain and sorrow in seeing the way she behaved, the company she kept and the influence she fell prey to. I felt I was losing her. I could do nothing except pray. I must admit that there were many times when I should have fought the battle on my knees, yet I could not. I could not pray, I could only sigh and cry to the Lord. During such times, it was the prayer of my fellow praying mothers that carried me through some of the most difficult moments. Praise be to God for His faithfulness and His love, that today my daughter has changed to be someone who has found purpose in her life and our relationship has improved tremendously.
There is power in a mother’s prayer. There is power in unity prayer. Imagine how powerful it will be when we, mothers unite, to come as ONE to pray intentionally for our children. This is the prompting I felt while I was praying on 28 Jun 2020: To organize a global prayer challenge for all mothers.
The first time I felt a prompting to organize an event for teens, youths and parents was in Mar 2020 during my 5-day silent retreat in Chiang Mai. This led to me organizing a seminar called Being a Happy Teenager - Happy Teens, Happy Families and it was well-attended by 500 people. All this in a span of less than 2 months' time - God paved the way when I did not know how. The second time I felt the prompting to organize Resilient Teens, Resilient Families was in Oct 2017 right after the suicide of my client's daughter's best friend. Again, God showed the way and guided me to organize this event in Mar 2018.
I received another prompting on 28 Jun 2020 to organize this global prayer challenge. I have not done this before but when the Lord calls, I only need to say 'YES' and trust that He will guide the way.
There is no better time than NOW for such an initiative. We are in an unprecedented time – we are facing a pandemic. As a result, the mental and emotional states of our children have hit an all-time high – feeling the stress, the fears, the isolation and the confusion of living in a world where there is so much violence, deception and chaos. Instead of keeping still and lamenting about the state of things, there is something we can do. For such a time like this, we need to stand in the gap and rise up to be the prayer warrior that is in each of us.
I sincerely and humbly invite you, mothers, to join this non-denominational Christian event, that aims to unite us as ONE to pray for our children. Joining me are guests which include best-selling authors, entrepreneurs, mompreneurs and ordinary mothers with extraordinary stories of love, faith and hope. Everyday, we will have 2 - 3 guests to share their prayer habits and testimonials. We will then pray together and lift up our petitions to God.
Come and be a part of a meaningful worldwide movement which will be a beautiful experience for all.
P.S: The registration fee of $7 will help to defray the costs incurred to organize this online event.
